Food Truck - Punjabi Grill

If, you are hungry & looking for some affordable options for your appetite & your pocket. There is no better solution than a food truck. It is no doubt that a food truck is a huge part of urban culture right now. In Stockholm, you will find food trucks, stalls & booths set-up serving delicious meals at reasonable prices to a generation of hungry and inquisitive food lovers. There are a lot of variation in food style and so there are endless experiment with food, however the main reason behind all these efforts to attract more people towards these colourful moving carts.

The intersection between food and wheels has driven culture in metro cities like Stockholm. Here, I will start from my beloved neighborhood “Kista”. Kista is itself a small town with varient culture and mixed environment. This is a silicone valley of Stockholm or better I say to Sweden. There are many multi-cuisine restaurants and food trucks in this locality and many more are opened in recent years. It generates own curiosity related to different food culture.

As a being foodie myself, I cannot resist to eat Indian delicacy and for that there’s no way you can miss this bright orange truck when you’re in Kista. The cart, which rolled out onto the streets in 2015, was a passion project of Sukha ji and Baldev ji. They had wanted to make Indian food less intimidating and thus, their menu was centered on familiar formats with Indian flavors. Serving up midtown lunch crowds everything from dal, curry, kati rolls and biriyani, the food Truck Punjabi Grill has earned quite a loyal and respected following. Owner Sukhaji said that his inspiration for starting the truck was due to the, “lack of tasty Indian street foods in my beloved city, these tasty Indian foods not available in over 90 percent of desi restaurants all over city.”

If you’ve never eaten at a food truck before, you’re doing yourself a disservice. If you’re looking for something truly Indian taste and you find yourself in the Kista area try Punjabi Grill once. Next time you see a bright orange food truck in Kista, stop on by. It might be the best meal you’ll have all week.
